Recent charm spectroscopy results from Dalitz plot analyses of BB decays to open charm final states at LHCb are presented. The decay modes used are B+→D−K+π+B^{+} \to D^{-} K^{+} \pi^{+}, B0→D‾0π+π−B^{0} \to \overline{D}{}^{0} \pi^{+} \pi^{-} and B0→D‾0K+π−B^{0} \to \overline{D}{}^{0} K^{+} \pi^{-}.Comment: To be published in the proceedings of CHARM-2015, Detroit, MI, 18-22 May 201

Searches for Λb0\Lambda_{b}^{0} and Ξb0\Xi_{b}^{0} decays to KS0pπ−K_{\mathrm S}^{0}p\pi^{-} and KS0pK−K_{\mathrm S}^{0}pK^{-} final states with the first observation of the Λb0→KS0pπ−\Lambda_{b}^{0} \to K_{S}^{0}p\pi^{-} decay

A search for previously unobserved decays of beauty baryons to the final states KS0pπ−K^0_{\mathrm{S}}p\pi^- and KS0pK−K^0_{\mathrm{S}}pK^- is reported. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−11.0\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1} of pppp collisions. The Λb0→KS0pπ−\Lambda^0_b \rightarrow K^0_{\mathrm{S}}p\pi^- decay is observed for the first time with a significance of 8.6 σ8.6\,\sigma, and a measurement is made of the CPCP asymmetry, which is consistent with zero. No significant signals are seen for Λb0→KS0pK−\Lambda^0_b \rightarrow K^0_{\mathrm{S}}pK^- decays, Ξb0\Xi^0_b decays to both KS0pπ−K^0_{\mathrm{S}}p\pi^- and KS0pK−K^0_{\mathrm{S}}pK^- final states, and the Λb0→Ds−(KS0K−)p\Lambda^0_b \rightarrow D^-_s (K^0_{\mathrm{S}}K^-)p decay, and upper limits on their branching fractions are reported.Comment: 4 page

Politics done like science:Critical perspectives on psychological governance and the experimental state

    Get PDF
There has been a growing academic recognition of the increasing significance of psychologically ? and behaviourally ? informed modes of governance in recent years in a variety of different states. We contend that this academic research has neglected one important theme, namely the growing use of experiments as a way of developing and testing novel policies. Drawing on extensive qualitative and documentary research, this paper develops critical perspectives on the impacts of the psychological sciences on public policy, and considers more broadly the changing experimental form of modern states. The tendency for emerging forms of experimental governance to be predicated on very narrow, socially disempowering, visions of experimental knowledge production is critiqued. We delineate how psychological governance and emerging forms of experimental subjectivity have the potential to enable more empowering and progressive state forms and subjectivities to emerge through more open and collective forms of experimentation.authorsversionPeer reviewe
